Located in the Butternuts Valley near Oneonta in upstate New York, is this historic farmhouse. [How fun would it be to tell people that you live in “Butternuts Valley”?] The Gilbertsville Farmhouse is not for sale but it is available as a vacation rental.

The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and can sleep up to 13 people. You can rent the farmhouse for a night, a weekend, or an entire week.

A quaint front porch welcomes guests with white wicker furniture.

Inside, each room is painted a different color…

The vintage chandelier caught my eye…

The living room is pink with yellow curtains…

No word on how old the house actually is but I’m guessing from those low ceilings that it is pretty old.

Red and white dining room which seats eight plus room for a kiddie table…

I think it would be fun and nostalgic to spend a Thanksgiving or a Christmas holiday here (it just has that ‘grandma’s house’ feel about it).

Check out the bathroom with aqua blue tiles…

(Love the old sink and mirrored cabinet!)

Bright celery green walls in one of the guest bedrooms:

And look at the tangerine color in the upstairs bathroom:

For a down-home alternative to Disney Land, why not spend a weekend in an old fashioned farmhouse surrounded by rolling hills and red barns?

If you don’t have a grandmother’s house to visit for the holidays, this would be a great option – you could let the kiddos run loose in the back 40!

The Gilbertsville Farmhouse also now hosts weddings in one of their large barns.
