How to Spend a Friday Night in Los Angeles

If you’re looking for a way to spend your Friday night in the entertainment capital of the world, look no further. Los Angeles has many great neighborhoods with tons of fun clubs, restaurants, concert venues, and other attractions for a great Friday night out. For your convenience, here is a complete and ultimate guide to having a fun and entertaining night out in Los Angeles.

Go to one of the many clubs on Sunset Blvd. The Whisky A Go Go and The Viper Room are just two of the many exciting clubs on Sunset Blvd. Every Friday night (as well as several other nights throughout the week), you can watch local bands perform live at either of these clubs, as well as at numerous others on the same street. Many people warn that these clubs can get quite crowded, but if you arrive early enough, you will surely be able to avoid the hectic audience members. These clubs are great places to regularly discover new artists as well as see your local hometown favorites.

Attend a concert at one of the hundreds of venues in LA. Almost every Friday, there is a concert at least, one of the hundreds of venues scattered throughout Los Angeles. Some smaller venues that are great for watching bands include The Roxy, The Troubadour, The Wiltern, The Mint, and The El Rey Theater. If there is an extremely famous artist passing through the LA area on their tour, you can most likely find them performing at the Staples Center, Microsoft Theater, the House of Blues, or the Rose Bowl. Furthermore, if you visit any of these theaters on Friday morning, they may have extra tickets that you can purchase for that evening.

Visit one of the restaurants/bars that celebrities frequent. If you are in Hollywood or West Hollywood on a Friday night, chances are high that you will see someone famous. A few popular celebrity hangouts include Dan Tana’s, Sugarfish, The Ivy, and The Nice Guy. Be sure to visit one of these places at around 9 PM to have the best chance of seeing a celebrity. These restaurants/bars all have excellent food as well.

Find out if there is a movie premiere. Sometimes, on Friday nights, there will be blockbuster movie premieres on Hollywood Boulevard. Most recently, the premiere of Jurassic World occurred on Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Hollywood & Highland plaza. For this premiere, the street was blocked off in order to accommodate the large red carpet and various celebrities in attendance. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Anna Faris, and Sofia Vergara were among the attendees at this premiere.
