This 1890 Victorian home is located in the historic mining town of Central City, Colorado. It sits on the side of a hill, overlooking the town and keeping watch over the history that has passed her by.

Central City is one of those towns that has, for the most part, stood still over time… with the exception of all the casinos that popped up when Colorado permitted gaming there in the 1990’s. But even the casinos are built inside of Victorian commercial storefront buildings.

At first glance, I thought the bed (above) had a really LARGE headboard, but upon closer inspection, I see that it is actually a pair of doors behind the bed!

Apparently, that is the original claw-foot tub. The black stains are just a tad disconcerting on the one hand… adds character on the other hand.

This Victorian could be an old house museum! Kudos to the owners for preserving and maintaining this wonderful home.
