This stone home in Doli-Mani Greece appears to have been built some 300 years ago…

But if you look really closely, you may sense that it is a bit too perfect. The structure was actually built in 2003 as a guest house.

The cottage and gardens are so enchanting and rustic… I must admit – I was fooled.

The photographs have captured each vivid scene in postcard-like quality…

Aiolou Architects  – a design firm out of Greece – used construction methods traditional to the area, complete with 50cm (almost 20 inch) thick stone walls, timber frame windows, and ceramic roof tiles.

To get that authentic Greek country aesthetic, the designers purchased used and recycled materials from “derelict buildings and integrated [them] into the house.”

They did a mighty fine job.

The home looks like a bona-fide hodge-podge historic dwelling; carved out and added onto over centuries.

The white-washed walls give it an ethereal appearance. Heaven in a new-old stone house.

The property also includes a dreamy freestanding pavilion with a bamboo roof in the garden area:

You can lounge with your feet up, a cold drink, and plump juicy grapes being hand-fed to you by a lucious Greek God/Goddess.

*sigh*

Back to real life now.
