Jodie Foster: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 2)

We are back here to bring you part two of Jodie Foster: 15 Things You Didn’t Know. Here are some more facts about the talented actress you probably never heard of.

Number Seven: Jodie Foster Is Afraid of Snakes

Cats aren’t the only creatures that creep her out—snakes do, too. While promoting her film Nims Island in California, TV host Jay Leno took a corn snake out of a bag for her to feel, which she reluctantly did, claiming to be really scared of these animals.

Number Six: She Enjoys Directing More Than Acting

Jodie Foster loves being in front of the camera, but behind the camera is where she feels the most comfortable. She claims directing to be her biggest accomplishment. “[Directing] is where my heart is and I am a novice director. I have a lot more to learn, but it was marvelous directing two films.”

Number Five: She Was Meant to Be on ‘Thelma and Louise’

Screenwriter Callie Khouri wrote the script for Thelma and Louise with Jodie Foster in mind to play Thelma (which ended up going to Geena Davis instead). However, director Ridley Scott rejected the idea, as he found Foster to be too young for the role (she was 28 by the time production started).

Number Four: She Doesn’t Enjoy Theatre

Although she likes to see theatre, Foster has claimed to not enjoy working on stage plays. The actress and filmmaker, who doesn’t consider herself to be much of an extrovert, declared to have a “bit of an inferiority complex” which disallows her from working on theatrical productions.

Number Three: She’s a Collector

Apparently, Jodie Foster has quite an impressive fancy kitchenware collection, and she also gathers old black and white pictures. Although not really a collection, Foster also owns two convertibles.

Number Two: She Gets Anxiety on Movie Sets

Although she always looks very determined and sure of herself, she has insisted that she’s “nervous every day on a film set. The anxiety of performance is not like anything else because you never know if you’ll get there or not. There is an anxiety when it comes to finding the truth.”

Number One: She’s More Athletic Than You Realize

Yoga, karate, kickboxing, aerobic and weightlifting are some of the sports the actress enjoys practicing. In addition, she’s a member of the same gym in L.A. as many other celebrities, including Bradley Cooper and Ashley Tisdale.
