If you are a fan of Grand Theft Auto, you probably already know that the geniuses responsible for the game series work for Rockstar Game Studios. What you don’t know, however, is that the game took the efforts of more than 100,000 employees to bring to life.

Number One Hundred Six: The Most Expensive Game

When it comes to creating a best-selling video game, it isn’t as cheap as you might expect it to be. Although, GTA 5, in particular, had the largest budget of any video game on the market today, costing the makers more than $265 million to produce.

Number One Hundred Five: Still on Top

Despite the risky budget for the game, everything panned out to the advantage of the game makers. In just the first three days after hitting the shelves, the game made a profit of over $1 billion.

Number One Hundred Four: Cali-Based Fantasies

If you have not yet tried out this recent version of Grand Theft Auto, the game takes place in cities deemed to be based on California. The first city, San Andres, is based on Southern California while the major city of Los Santos in the game is based on Los Angeles.

In order to create the most realistic California-based venues for the game, photographers were put to work taking photos of California life. These research strips reported back with more than 250,000 photographs.

In addition to using photographs to make the venues, researchers also took advantage of more extensive technology for their data. The makers of the game have claimed to take advantage of both census reports and satellite imagery for their creation.

Number One Hundred One: GTA 5 Maps

With all this extensive data, the producers were successful in creating the biggest maps ever utilized in their series of Grand Theft Auto games. The 100,000 square foot map is bigger than Grand Theft Auto 4, San Andres, and Red Dead Redemption all put together.

Number One Hundred: Character Options

The first GTA platform to do this, GTA 5 offers a variety of three main characters to follow throughout the game. Each of these three players has their own storyline and offers a longer game life span for players.
