Number Fifteen: He Has Unique Hobbies

The Dalai Lama isn’t just an ordinary spiritual leader: he’s also quite the individual. On his free time, the man enjoys to garden, meditate, and repair watches.

Number Fourteen: He’s Interested in Science

It isn’t the norm for spiritual leaders to be vocal about their positive thoughts towards science, but this is yet another way how Dalai Lama is different. This man is intrigued by science and believes that the truth of both science and Buddhism should match.

Something that a lot of people don’t know about the Dalai Lama is the fact that he likes machines. Once, he fixed a movie projector, and had done so when he was very young.

Number Twelve: The Dalai Lama Was Discovered

When the man was only 2 years old, he was found by monks, who, after they saw his physical characteristics, believed he would be just the person to be the next Dalai Lama. Talk about a story of fate!

Number Eleven: All Indian Prime Ministers Have Done This

Every Indian Prime Minister in history has met the Dalai Lama. They’ve even shaken hands with one another.

Number Ten: He Would Have Become Something Else

Despite being on of the most respected men in the world, the Delai Lama didn’t always want to be a monk. Repeatedly, he’s said that if this lifestyle hadn’t found him, he would have decided to go into engineering.

Number Nine: He’s Had Jaundice For This Reason

His holiness thinks very highly of vegetarianism, and encourages people to be so whenever he can. However, when he was vegetarian, he mostly consumed milk and nuts, and strangely enough, this gave him jaundice. Some think that his geological location may have been a contributing factor, because this is a rare case.
