Castle: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 1)

Castle is a super popular crime series that many people have been watching for years. Fans have said that the show is particularly intriguing and funny. Even though there’s a good number of fans, not a lot of them know the facts that we’re going to share today. Here are some of them. Stay tuned for the next part of the article, which is coming soon!

Number Fifteen: There’s Always a Book

On the show, character Detective Kevin Ryan often carries a book. What most people don’t know is the kind of book he has. If one looks closer, they’d see it was always one of Castle’s novels.

Number Fourteen: The Protagonists of ‘Castle’ Got Their Parts in a Strange Way

Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion, who play the protagonists on Castle, got their parts interestingly. When they were reading lines together, upon realizing her shirt was too long for the reading, asked Fillion for scissors. After that, he asked her if she wanted coffee, and she asked him if he would cut her shirt. He did just that and they both got the part!

Number Thirteen: That’s a Lot of Tryouts

Finding Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) was difficult. It took producers to see more than 125 actresses read for the part until they found her.

Number Twelve: What a Linguist!

Stana Katic speaks many different languages, which has come in handy in Castle when they go undercover. She speaks English, Italian, French, and Serbian perfectly!

Number Eleven: Always Coffee

Beckett’s character drinks lots of coffee on the show. Whenever she does, it’s always from the same mug, which reads “Innocent Bystander” on it.

Number Ten: Chess, Anyone?

On Castle, there’s always a lot of references to the game of chess. Castle, for instance, has a fictional character named Jameson Rook: “rook” and “castle” and both names of the same kind of piece in the game.

Number Nine: The Apartment Was Also Somewhere Else

Castle’s apartment on the show has been known to be the exact same set used on another show: Moonlight. That sort of coincidence happens occasionally in Hollywood.
