Babyface: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 1)



Babyface is an extremely popular artist whose music has made people excited for years now. Despite the fact that he is very famous, there’s loads about this man that many people don’t know. Here are some of those facts. Stay tuned for part two, which is coming soon!

Number Fifteen: He’s Expanded to Sports

Babyface does more than just music. Approximately 16 years ago, the man started a group known as the Edmond’s Sports Group, which is especially an agent company for sports players. The company helps specifically NFL players get connected to agents.

Number Fourteen: Babyface Got His Nickname From Bootsy

When Babyface was starting out, many commented on the fact that he looked so young. It took Bootsy Collins, though, to give to give him his new name. It caught on, and, well, the rest is history.

Number Thirteen: He Has No Problems Mixing Work and Play

Tracey Edmonds was Babyface’s second wife. Together, they formed a film production company known as Edmonds Entertainment. The film Soul Food which they made under the company became quite popular.

Number Twelve: He Was Never in Love with Tracey Edmonds

A few years ago, this producer has admitted something shocking: that he was never in love with Tracey, who was his second wife. In short, he said that they loved each other, but were never “in love.”

Number Eleven: He Escaped a Bad Fire

Once, Babyface escaped a situation that could have ended very badly. A fire had exploded in one of the bathrooms in his mansion in L.A., and luckily he escaped without any serious injury. He was probably also very thankful for his sprinkler system.

Number Ten: He Passed on His Passion for Music to His Son

Babyface named one of his children Dylan, but he didn’t just name him after any Dylan: one of Babyface’s inspirations was and still remains to be Bob Dylan. This is quite the musical connection.

Number Nine: Mariah Carey Sang What?
