Andy Murray is currently ranked ATP’s No. 2 of the world. He started playing tennis at the age of three and turned professional in 2005. We have put together a list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about him. Surprisingly, he enjoys some really unexpected thing. Stay tuned for part two, coming soon!

Number Fifteen: He is Managed by Simon Fuller

Simon Fuller, the man who launched the Spice Girls into stardom and created Pop Idol (which became American Idol in the U.S.) is, surprisingly, Andy Murray’s manager. He has also managed Victoria Beckham, Lewis Hamilton, Amy Winehouse, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, among others.

Number Fourteen: That One Time He Rapped

Murray recorded a rap single back in 2009 written by tennis players Bob and Mike Bryan. The song, “Autograph”, was absolutely savaged by music critics worldwide, who noted Murray’s lack of rhythm and passion. The song only sold 200 copies and it was named one of the five worst raps ever written by The Guardian.

Number Thirteen: He’s a Go-Karting Freak

Murray loves go-karting so much he once missed the Wimbledon final just to go practice before his driving lessons. But hey, at least he came second.

Number Twelve: He Loves Milky Way Bars

His passion for Milky Way chocolate bars must be very intense, because it’s on his biographical book. Apparently, he once bought so many of them, the woman at the counter asked him if he thought they were on special offer. His girlfriend, Kim Sears, who was with him at the store, replied “No. He just likes them a lot.”

Number Eleven: Andy Murray Is a James Bond Fan

He bought each one of the 007 movies when he was younger, naming Goldfinger as his favorite one. Sean Connery, whom Murray admires, called him before Wimbledon 2005 to wish him good luck and joined him on his press conference to celebrate his victory at 2012’s U.S. Open.

Number Ten: He Owned a Ferrari

Murray purchased a red Ferrari after getting his driver’s license, but returned it a week later. Apparently, he just didn’t feel very comfortable driving it: “I’m quite a conservative driver, but when I was driving that, I would get beeped just for getting out of the car.”

Number Nine: He Owns a Hotel

Andy Murray purchased the hyper-luxurious Cromlix House in 2013, two years after the previous owners shut it down. The Victorian mansion-turned-hotel is located in the countryside, near Kinbuck (Scotland).

Number Eight: He’s Abstemious

Murray has clearly stated that he “hates” alcohol and going out to parties. He told the press that he is “not a fan of going out and getting smashed […] I don’t enjoy going out. I don’t find it fun. The music is so loud, you can’t hear yourself speak and you wake up with a sore throat. I just don’t enjoy it.” Stay tuned for part two, coming son!
